Craftmark’s smart-locking stainless steel buckle allows for a micro-adjustable custom fit for any individual, ensuring ultimate comfort. The smart-locking system was meticulously designed to grip and secure the belt without any slippage.
With micro-adjustability, the belt easily and discreetly micro-adjusts to fit fluctuations in waist sizes throughout the day, including after a heavy meal. This ensures perfect fit and ultimate comfort at all times.

The smart locking system went through several rounds of grip strength tests and had been perfected to secure the belt in place.
We placed an orange sticker to demonstrate the effectiveness of the smart-locking system, and as pictured, the belt does not slide when it's in locked position despite being pulled from both sides.

HAND-STAINED VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER
We source our leather carefully. We only use premium-quality, natural leather in our products to promise great performance. To ensure the Craftmark Belt meets our high standard, the vegetable-tanned side of the belt is made of full-grain leather. Full-grain leather is the best quality grade of leather and belongs to the top layer of the cowhide. It is very strong and durable as it contains the strongest fibres in the hide. In addition, it is also very breathable which minimises moisture retention.
With a minimal amount of treatment, the vegetable-tanned leather is hand-stained with natural pigments and eco-solvents to produce an astounding color. This artisanal process takes advantage of the tannic acids naturally found in some plant species by using the barks,
branches, leaves, and even some fruits. Because of this, the Craftmark Belt develop a beautiful patina over time.
Made from premium-quality, durable, natural leather, the Craftmark Belt is made with a "chromium-free" method that does not use harmful chemicals.

What is Patina?
Patina is a unique and beautiful characteristic of genuine leather marked by the gradual and natural darkening of vegetable-tanned leather over time with use and exposure.
No patina is the same, making each Barnns product truly unique and personal to every user. Patina is especially prominent in vegetable-tanned leather, which is a traditional method of tanning leather dating back to approximately 6000 BCE.

How Vegetable-tanned leather is made

Pre-tanning
Before starting the tanning process, the hides have to go through the beamhouse treatment. This term is derived from the beams where hides are dried, de-haired, and cleaned.

Tanning
The hides will be treated with natural tannins comprising of tree barks, leaves, or plant oils, to stabilize the protein structure of the skin. Great care is needed to ensure the hides get full absorption.

Dyeing and Finishing
The tanned leather are then dyed with rich colours. Conditioning oils and waxes are applied on the leather to give astounding finishes and enhance its durability. Finally, the dyed leather is ironed and staked to soften it further.

Crafted from premium full grain vegetable-tanned leather and Saffiano leather, it is designed and built to last.
Saffiano leather is a highly durable leather with a distinctive texture.
